Exposition floor highlights:
- Fiber Optic Switch & Technology Center (New in 2010) – Discover how advanced fiber connectivity and automated switching can help in provisioning, testing and monitoring various network architectures such as FTTx, and in facilitating network/backbone fiber recovery and restoration, troubleshooting, and fault location.
- FTTx Resource Center (Hall E) – A combination demonstration and resource center, The Light Brigade’s FTTx Center offers “one-stop shopping” for all things related to fiber-to-the-home. The FTTx Resource Center will feature a live GPON system and a preview of a next-generation (NGPON) network.
- OSP/Fiber Technology Showcase (Hall E) – This on-floor theater will feature special presentations and demonstrations on topics of interest in today’s fiber optic technology. Demonstrations will include an emergency restoration performed live on a working fiber-optic system. Participants include ADC, EXFO, JDSU, ITW Chemtronics, Lightel Technologies, AFL Telecommunications and The Light Brigade.
- POF Market Opportunities Presentation (Hall E) – The Plastic Optical Fiber Trade Organization (POFTO) is organizing a POF Symposium to review recent developments in POF markets, technology, and applications. This year’s theme will be “The Market and Applications for Optical Links that are Less Than 100 Meters.” In addition, POFTO is organizing a POF DAY, POF Press conference, and POF Applications Center, which will be open throughout the show and will feature the latest POF industry products.
- Video Theater (Hall E) – Installation and system footage are combined with animations and graphics to give an in-depth look into the world of fiber optics at the educational Video Theater. The Video Theater features DVDs produced by The Light Brigade. New features to the theater include fiber-optic devices and connectors and cable management products.
- New Product Introductions (Hall B) – A show floor theater in which individual exhibitors will be highlighting their newest developments, products and services in 30-minute showcase presentations.
- Optical Switch Pavilion (New in 2010) – Dedicated to optical switch technologies. Companies in this pavilion will be focused on central office, data center, carrier hotel, recovery, test and monitoring, and colorless/directionless reconfigurable switching applications.
Special Programming on the Show Floor – Service Provider Summit and Market Watch
- The Service Provider Summit – A dynamic program with topics and speakers of interest to CTOs, network architects, network designers and technologists within the service provider and carrier sector. The Service Provider Summit will be held on Wednesday, March 24 and will feature a keynote presentation from Vijay Gill, senior manager of engineering and architecture at Google. Other speakers include executives from Ovum, Verizon, Equinix, AT&T Business Solutions, NTT, France Telecom Access Labs, and NeoPhotonics.
- Market Watch – This three-day series of panel sessions held March 23–25 engages the applications and business communities in the field of optical communications. Presentations and panel discussions feature guest speakers from the industry, research and investment communities. Topics include the State of the Optical Industry, Benefits and Tradeoffs of Photonic Integration, Wireless Backhaul and Beyond, and Reinventing Carrier Networks for 100G.
- 500+ exhibitors, featuring the latest optical communications technologies.

About OFC/NFOEC
Since 1985, the Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exposition (OFC) has provided an annual backdrop for the optical communications field to network and share research and innovations. In 2004, OFC joined forces with the National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (NFOEC), creating the largest and most comprehensive international event for optical communications. By combining an exposition of 500+ companies with a unique program of peer-reviewed technical programming and special focused educational sessions, OFC/NFOEC provides an unparalleled opportunity, reaching every audience from service providers to optical equipment manufacturers and beyond.
OFC/NFOEC is managed by the Optical Society (OSA) and co-sponsored by OSA, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers/Communications Society (IEEE/ComSoc) and the IEEE Photonics Society. Acting as a non-financial technical co-sponsor is Telcordia Technologies, Inc.
