OFC 2004 was a major success! We are pleased to report we had 15,689 registrants this year, a 4% increase over 2003. Additionally, we had a strong international exhibit, with approximately 40% of our 635 exhibitors coming from outside the United States. Several exhibitors unveiled important announcements at OFC 2004, generating a renewed buzz in the field. Throughout the conference the theme was one of cautious optimism for an upswing in the industry.

On the programming side, OFC boasted 534 accepted paper presentations, 85 sessions, 9 tutorials and 9 workshops. The Service Provider Summit had a strong showing with 175 registrants in its second year, and once again several sessions in OFC's Market Watch were standing room only with more than 500 in attendance.

We are thrilled with the positive energy that echoed throughout this year's conference.
